Fireflies is a movie about a story that waited to be told for over twenty years and which spans four decades: Giora Meisler disappeared mysteriously upon the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War on October 6th, 1973. This is the movie’s starting point. In 1984, Giora's younger brother, Gili, embarks on his first journey to the Far East during which he “revives” Giora. This is a deceptive and fascinating journey into the consciousness, a journey that Gili feels compelled to take in the hopes that the search in a different dimension, the spiritual dimension, will procure the drug that will create and return Giora to him. The final plot of the movie will deal with the second journey to the Far East, in 2005, during which Gili reenacts his first quest with a camera and attempts to understand what really happened to him there, twenty years earlier. www.meisler.com www.fireflies.co.il
